The truth is, we knew all along that Gardner was lying about his record on women’s reproductive rights. Gardner once proudly declared his support for the Personhood abortion bans that Colorado voters rejected overwhelmingly. Gardner has supported legislation in Congress and in the Colorado legislature that would ban all abortions--even in cases of rape or incest.
And yesterday, Cory Gardner again voted against health care that millions of women in America and Colorado depend on every day. Only three percent of Planned Parenthood’s health care services are related to abortion. Planned Parenthood provides vital cancer screenings, detection and treatment for sexually-transmitted disease, and of course family planning and contraceptives to scores of people every hour. In many communities, Planned Parenthood is the only source of health care available.
Senator Gardner, your vote to defund Planned Parenthood hurts Colorado families. I stand with Planned Parenthood.
