Frisco town council to talk development propsals, e-bikes at regular meeting

The Frisco Town Council will hold a regular meeting on Tuesday at 7 p.m. at town hall during which they will discuss clearing zoning hurdles for a seven-unit residential development at 90 S. Madison Ave. and a proposed four-unit project at 112 N. Fifth Ave.

The Madison Avenue project needs council to eliminate a condition of its permit that required it to include commercial space — a holdover from when the property was on unincorporated county land.

The Fifth Avenue proposal is requesting an historical overlay zoning designation, which would provide development incentives in exchange for the preservation of historic cabins located on the site. The Planning Commission has unanimously recommended that council grant the zoning overlay.

The council’s work session will begin prior to the regular meeting at 4:30 p.m. with a discussion about recent state legislation modifying the definition of electronic bike (e-bikes). The new law prompted the county government to change its restrictions on e-bikes.

Next, at 5 p.m., the council will hear a progress report on a proposed child victim services center that local advocates and law enforcement hope to establish. The nearest such facility, which provides a nurturing environment for child victims of assault and abuse, is currently in Glenwood Springs.
