Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper appeared again on national television Sunday with his Republican counterpart, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, to urge for bipartisan fixes to the Affordable Care Act and the nation’s health care system.

“There’s no reason why we can’t bring (the different philosophical approaches) together and find compromises,” Hickenlooper, a Democrat, said on CBS’ Face the Nation with John Dickerson.

Hickenlooper and Kasich have repeatedly made media appearances and sent letters to U.S. Senate leadership calling for federal legislators to work across the aisle — and with the nation’s governors — to find health care fixes.

The two governors said their staffs will be working together on trying to come up with solutions.

“I think the plan is that we begin to look at how do we get to that — those solutions, and really stabilize the private markets, and figure out how — how are we going to get to these reinsurance or high cost pools,” Hickenlooper said. “And as we do that, we’ll try to include more governors, Republicans and Democrats to make sure we’re kind of balanced.”
