DENVER – June is LGBT+ Pride Month not just in the United States, but across the world. Celebrations worldwide commemorate the legacy left behind following the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York, and seek to raise awareness of the fight still ahead for the LGBT+ community.

While the Mile High City is recognized as one of the top 10 pride events in the country, it isn’t the only one taking place in Colorado. Here are other events taking place this month you should check out if you don’t want to make the drive to the capital.

1. Four Corners Pride Festival - Durango

Dates: June 21- 25, 2017

There are several events taking place starting Wednesday, June 21 with a movie night. A cocktail reception, dinner and queer therapy comedy night follow the next day and Friday welcomes the LGBT community and allies to a night of art shows and dancing followed by Pride Procession on Saturday.

The Durango Pride Festival takes place on Sunday, June 25. For more information about the location, email them directly.
